Our Autumn Term Journey

EYFS

Autumn 1

In EYFS this half term we have been developing our physical movements. We started by pretending to be different animals; thinking about how they move and seeing if we can replicate these movements. We have also been improving our awareness of space and others through specific games such as playing team games and tig. 

Autumn 2

In EYFS this half term we have been improving our ball skills. We have done this by developing control in throwing, catching and handling a range of small balls. To put this into practice we dribbled the ball with our feet, we jumped with the ball in between our legs and threw the ball to our partner. As well as this we have been improving our balancing skills by using a range of equipment. 

 

 

KS1

Autumn 1

In KS1 and Year 3 this half term we have been learning about Tag Rugby. We have developed our knowledge of rugby, passing skills, catching skills and our communication skills. We have developed these skills through a variety of invasion games as well as playing mini rugby games. We are hoping to take part in a tournament this half term, where we will be using the skills we have learnt. 

Autumn 2

In KS1 and Year 3 this half team we have been learning about dodge ball. We have developed our knowledge of the game and its rules. Over the course of this half term we have also developed our throwing and catching skills. As well as all of this we have improved our knowledge of attacking and defending by playing mini games each week.

KS2

This term in LSK2 PE we have been learning about Basketball and Hockey. We developed a range of skills and improved our knowledge and understanding for the rules of the game. We also began to use tactics for attacking and defending in game situations. We will take part in competitions throughout the year to further embed our learning.

This term in UKS2 PE we have been learning about Netball and Hockey. We developed a range of skills and improved our knowledge and understanding for the rules of the game. We also used tactics and developed team strategies for attacking and defending in game situations. We will take part in competitions throughout the year to further embed our learning.
