Our Summer 2 Journey

This half term our theme is 'My Country and the World'. Our focus stories will be 'The Queen's Hat' and 'Don't Spill the Milk'.

 Growing

This week, we have been reading the story 'The Tiny Seed'. You can listen to the story here. 

We have enjoyed planting our own sun flower seeds. We know that we need to take care of our seeds to help them blossom and grow into a flower.

 We have also been carefully looking after the plants in our classroom.

   

 

We have  been writing instructions to plant seeds and learning about the different parts of a plant.

   

 

We were excited to find some gnomes had arrived in our classrooms. They sent us a letter and told us they were going to help look after the seeds we had planted. 

Our gnomes did not have names, we thought about some name ideas and voted on our favourite.

 The Queens Hat     

Some gnomes appeared in our classrooms, they had heard about our wonderful sunflower seeds and wanted to help look after them. They told us before they came on their journey to our school, they had been in London. 

We realised our gnomes were nameless and thought of some of our own names before voting on our favourite. Our class gnomes are called 'Dottee' and 'Nosey Parker'.
