 Maths- SATs revision

In the run up to SATs, this term we focused on a different area of Maths every lesson that needed revising. An example of our working wall:

Children were given a selection of questions based on that area followed by SATs style questions based on that area. Have a look are some of our work:

English- Writing focus

This term, our learning has been based around two different texts ‘Alma’ a film by Rodrigo Blaas.

After watching the video, children wrote a narrative based on what they had seen but also what they thought would happen next.

During SATs week, we moved onto the book ‘The Final Year’ by Matt Goodfellow'.

We explored a few of the poems from the book and wrote our own selection of poems based on our journey in Year 6 in the style of Nate from the book.

We also used this term to revise those reading and grammar skills in the run up to SATs. Here is our working wall:

Values- Trust

Trust is our value this half term. We have been looking an inspirational person and answering a key question: How is trust shown throughout faith? We linked our key question with our key person this half term, who has been Captain Tom Moore.

We read the the 'Little People, Big Dreams' book and watched a video all about his life and asked ourselves, Why do you think he has been chosen to represent our school value of trust?

Outdoor fun!

We have been lucky to have some great weather this term and have been taking advantage of our time outside.

In PE, we have been learning how to play rounders and at playtimes using the loose parts play equipment.
