PTA

Welcome to Riddlesden St. Mary's PTA:

We are a group of friendly and enthusiastic parents and teachers who volunteer to play an active part in the running of school life. We give our time and energy to fundraise in a wide range of ways and work within a partnership with the school.

What are our aims?

• To hold events that bring the school and local community together 
• To raise money for school through fun and organised events
• To donate the money raised to directly impact the children and their learning 
• To meet new people and make new friends
• To represent the interests of the school and the children
• To be an ambassador of the school
• To create a link between parents and teachers

What have we done so far?

We have held three coffee mornings over the course of the year so far. During these themed events, parents are invited to first take part in their child's learning (that is themed for the morning) and then buy coffee and a cake to enjoy with their child. Our first coffee morning was themed around 'E-Safety' and sharing the important messages of being safe online. Our second coffee was timed in line with Christmas and the festive period of bringing people together. Our third coffee morning was timed in line with the launch of our Relationships Education and was themed 'Marvellous Me'. 

Funds raised = Approx. £800

We have held termly discos for both our KS1 and KS2 children that have involved a live DJ, a range of warm food and snacks and lots of fun and dancing. Parents are welcome to stay for the disco to enjoy the fun and join in the dancing! 

Funds raised = Appox. £400

We have organised a litter picking event whereby we walked the school grounds collecting all of the litter and removing it off site. This made the grounds of St. Mary's look inviting and tidy. 

Every Christmas St. Mary's Church and Riddlesden School combine forces to put on a Christmas Bazaar. This year, the PTA set up and ran the 'Santa's Grotto' whereby all children received the present of a book. 

Funds raised = Approx. £300

What has our fundraising gone towards so far? 

• Every child at Riddlesden St. Mary's was given a Christmas present funded by the PTA. 
• After school clubs are part-funded by the PTA. 
• We are currently looking into funding a theater company to visit the school and perform for everyone.
• We are also currently looking into funding a school minibus. 

Money also goes back into funding and creating new events for the children of Riddlesden St. Mary's to enjoy. 

What are our future projects?

• More litter picking 
• Mugs for Schools 
• Decorate an egg competition (in line with Easter)
• Joint school and PTA Spring Fair 
• Riddlesden Gala
