Online Safety

It is quite likely that your child might be spending more time online at the moment as they access online resources to support their learning whilst they are learning at home. With that in mind, here are some resources that you may wish to use to help educate your children in staying safe online.

For young children, this video shows two characters, Declan and Pip, learning how to stay safe online and what to do if they are unsure about something they see.

BBC Newsround have recorded some videos with lots of useful information and tips about how to stay safe online. Click here to watch them.

As a parent, it's really important that you know what your child is doing when they are using the internet. This website has lots of useful information, including a really helpful guide, with lots of questions you can ask your child about what they are doing on the internet or on the games they are playing.

This video is helpful to educate children about the importance of being kind when using the internet. There are lots of opportunities for children to message one another online - online gaming, apps like Snapchat, Tik Tok and Instagram - and it's really important that children are aware of the harm that unkind words can cause.
