Our Autumn 2 Journey
Curriculum Overview Autumn 2
Please take some time to have a look through our Curriculum Overview for Autumn 2.
Our Focus this Term
During Autumn 2, our learning was focused on the seasonal changes as Autumn transitions to Winter. Our I wonder question was, "I wonder why the leaves change colour?" This sparked lots of curiosity as we explored the natural world around us. The children observed how the leaves changed colour from green to beautiful shades of red, orange and yellow, and noticed how the weather became colder and frostier.
We went on a woodland walk to look for signs of autumn and winter, collecting natural treasures and talking about what we could see, hear and feel.
Alongside our seasonal learning, we also explored the lives of Hedgehogs, discovering how they prepare for Winter. As the term drew to a close, we enjoyed taking part in Christmas activities, learning about traditions and celebrations. Through hands-on experiences, discussion and exploration, the children developed their understanding of the world around them and the changed that happen throughout the season.

A Bit Lost / Spots Snowy Fun / Maisie's Christmas Eve

Fine Motor/ Counting
We incorporated our work around Hedgehogs into our daily carpet and used pegs to add spikes onto our Hedgehogs to support developing our fine motor skills. As we added the spikes we also did some counting.
