Music in 2YO
Why is Music important?
Music plays a vital role in our two-year-old provision, supporting children's communication, language development, emotional wellbeing and sense of belonging. Through singing, movement, rhythm and exploration of instruments children develop listening skills, coordination, confidence and creativity in a joyful and meaningful way.
Music helps to build early vocabulary, strengthen memory and establish routines, while also providing opportunities for self-expression and connection with others.
Within our Tadpoles Provision, music is woven throughout daily practice - from familiar songs and ryhmes at group time to interventions through Laulau and Dough Disco. By embedding music into our environment and experiences, we nurture curiosity, creativity and a life long love of learning.
