Music in Y3
In Year 3 we aim to give children the power to express the inexpressible, foster imagination and ignite a lifetime of passion for music.

Autumn 2 Pantomimes
AU2 - Session 1
During session 1 we recapped our musical vocabulary then used these to describe what we liked and disliked after watching a short clip from a Pantomime.
We loved the bright colours, the jokes, the expression used in the songs and the different costumes.
We disliked the 'baddies'.

AU2 - Session 2
As a warm up we practiced using our body percussion to perform Jingle Bells. We are now experts at finding a rhythm!

During this session we were digging deeper into Pantomimes. Using our slow looking skills and slow listening skills we examined different aspects of Pantomimes:
Colours
Dames
Jokes
Songs
Costumes
Characters

AU2 - Session 3 and 4
First we recapped on our musical vocabulary focusing on Allegro and Adagio.
In our groups we examined a script from a pantomime. Using this script we then took it in turns to be a character or the audience. We watched and reviewed each others performance so we could go away and improve by using more expression, actions and designed a costume.
Finally, we sung a pantomime song 'Beware of the Beast' in tune using expression and actions.
