Our Autumn 2 Journey
Over Autumn 2, our learning journey was linked to the text 'Florence Nightingale' by Lucy Lethbridge.

We started our new topic with a Victorian Times 'Hook Day' to allow us to understand the period of history that we were focusing on. Understanding how life was different and what things we wouldn't have had then that we do now.
In English, we explored the text and focused on:
- The reading skills of: prediction, vocabulary, retrieval and inference
- Use of Adjectives
- Expanded Noun Phrases
- Use of Conjunctions
- The different tenses
- Punctuation basics - capital letters, full stops, commas for lists, question marks
- We finished this unit by taking on the role of Florence Nightingale and writing a diary entry from her point of view.
In History, we linked our learning to the text and focused on:
- What was life like during the Victorian Times
- Who Florence Nightingale was
- What Florence Nightingale did
- How Florence Nightingale has impacted the world today
In DT, we linked our learning to the text and developed our woodwork skills by making our own lanterns.
In Science, we linked our learning to the text and learnt all about how to keep healthy - including basic hygiene, balanced diets and exercise.
In Maths (which was a stand alone subject) we focused on:
- Multiplication
- Division
In RE (which was a stand alone subject) we focused on:

In Music (which was a stand alone subject) we focused on:
