The Aim of Religious Education
The principal aim of Religious Education in our school is to enable pupils to hold balanced and informed conversations about religions and beliefs.
As a Church of England school within the Diocese of Leeds, we follow the Leeds Diocesan Syllabus for RE. From this, we have a long term plan which is designed to help children understand achieve this aim.
Long term Plan
The long term plan shows what children at Riddlesden St Mary's learn about in RE. They use a range of activities to help them to explore religions and beliefs, including discussion and debate: drama: Godly Play; making visits; learning from visitors; art and film and written work.
